what your child(ren) are doing in art class. You can also view our classroom procedures and our work.

Attention: All Parents of Students Attending Wing Elementary

Welcome to art!  This is a short note so that I can introduce myself, tell you about common themes for projects, and other important art information.

My name is Mrs. Salgado, and I will be your child’s art teacher for the 2013-2014 school year.  If you have any questions or concerns please contact me by calling the main office.

My main goal is to introduce many different styles, cultures, and techniques studied in the arts. Together we will learn and incorporate all of the elements and principals of design into our projects. We are going to be using a variety of materials, paint and charcoal, among others.

Please have your child dress appropriately for a working, sometimes messy environment.  Even though some of the materials say washable, it generally means from the skin and not from clothing. Please provide your child with a smock preferably an old T-shirt or shirt that is large enough to cover your child’s clothing.  Please put a name clearly on the smock.

I look forward to meeting all of you on Meet the Teacher Night.  I hope to share more of my fun and exciting ideas that will enable me to have a successful and enjoyable year with your children.
